South Main Street.

Are your classes for both parent/caregiver and child or just for
the child alone?
All of my Itsy Bitsy Yoga Classes are intended to be interactive
for the child AND parent/caregiver. It's a fun way to get some
exercise with your child, as well as a meaningful opportunity to
bond. It also helps to remember the songs and poses if you're
actively participating in the class!
My school-aged storytime class is for the independent child.
What should I wear/bring to a class?
Everyone should dress comfortably. Jeans aren't the best for
some poses (Down Dog might be pretty uncomfortable with a
metal zipper poking you in the belly!) Running pants or pajama
bottoms work really well. And a comfortable t-shirt that's not
too tight or binding, too.
Moms that come to the Baby class might want to bring a blanket
and small toy with them, but it's not necessary.
How much do classes cost? Is there a multi-child discount?
Itsy Bitsy Yoga classes are $10/class. Classes are typically
structured in 6-week or 8-week sessions.
School-aged program is $10 per class.
I offer a 50% discount to families with multiple children The
first child is charged at full rate and each additional receives
the 50% discount.
How do I pay for classes?
I accept check or cash. Payment can be made at the start of a
session. A $20 non-refundable deposit is required and can be
sent to Peaceful Kids Yoga c/o Miriam Watson, 27 Chase Street,
Concord, NH 03301.
Do the Itsy Bitsy Yoga sessions in Bedford include both Tuesday
and Saturday classes?
No. While I offer classes both days, there are only 6 classes per
session, not 12. Another way of saying it is if you sign up for a
Tuesday session, that means you'll be attending 6 consecutive
classes on Tuesdays. Likewise, if you sign up for a Saturday
series, you'll be coming for 6 consecutive Saturdays.
What is your policy on make-up classes/missed days?
If I need to cancel class for personal reasons or weather, I'll add
on a class to the end of the session.
If you miss a class you can make it up on another day (ie if you
miss a Tuesday class, feel free to join us on Wednesdays or
Saturdays), but otherwise you just missed that class and I can't
refund your money. (I do make exceptions for extenuating
circumstances.)
Do you offer adult classes?
No. At this point I'm only certified to teach babies and young
children. I am currently taking a 200-hour Registered Yoga
Teacher Training which will enable me to teach adult classes
beginning 2009. However, as you'll come to learn by taking these
classes, adults get a great introduction to yoga. If you're
interested in developing a personal practice (and I encourage you
to do so), visit wwwyogafinder.com or www.yogaalliance.com for a
certified teacher in your area. For Concord classes, I personally
can recommend Jim Readey at the Yoga Center. Jim offers
Kripalu-styled yoga classes for all levels.
What are your qualifications to teach children yoga?
I'm rapidly approaching the 100-hour mark in training specifically
geared towards teaching babies and children yoga. I've
completed nearly 60 hours of training under Helen Garabedian, a
national expert on early childhood movement and developer of
the Itsy Bitsy Yoga program. In addition, I'm certified under
Marsha Metzger's Color Me Yoga program which is geared
towards all children ages three years and above. I recently
became trained under Shakta Kaur Khalsa's Radiant Child
Program, one of the country's first yoga programs for children.
Additionally I am presently enrolled in a 200-hour Registered Yoga
Teacher School specializing in children's yoga. I should complete
my "RYT" training at the end of 2008. I have also completed
training and am a fully Certified Infant Massage Therapist
through the LiddleKidz Foundation.
